| In 2009 it will be ten years since the last Anolis symposium was organised at the Herpetology meetings at Penn State. Given the rapid advances and exciting new discoveries in Anolis biology we felt it appropriate to organize another Anolis symposium. 2009 is also the year the Anolis carolinensis genome sequence will be published, thus providing an additional reason for a celebration of Anolis biology here in Cambridge. The aim of the Anolis symposium is to bring together biologists from diverse backgrounds to share both their excitement about anoles as well as recent discoveries resulting from their work with these animals. In this symposium we hope to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations of people working with Anolis and to broaden our general understanding of anole biology. We hope that you and many other fellow anole enthusiasts will make it to the meeting to share your insights and knowledge on the biology of Anolis lizards. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Harvard in Fall 2009. |
